Our first Sierra Freedom festival on July 3-4, 2021 was a success. Although we did not have a large turnout, it was still a great return to dancing after the long hiatus forced on us by the Covid pandemic.
We are looking forward to repeating this event in 2022. However, the Plumas-Sierra Fairgrounds will not be available to us over the 4th of July weekend due to another event. (We were only able to get that weekend in 2021 because that event had cancelled due to the pandemic.) We are finding another date that will work for both the fairgrounds and our calling staff.
Watch for further updates!
The 2021 Plumas Homegrown Americana Festival has been cancelled. The fairgrounds is being used as a base camp for fighting the Dixie Fire, and the growth of that fire is making it unlikely that the fairgrounds will be available for the festival. So, to be safe, the fair manager has cancelled both the county fair and the Americana festival for this year.
The festival is still planned to take place for 2022, however. Watch both this space and the main Festival website for further announcements!
